Episcopal Church in the Philippines
Asset-Based Community Development, otherwise referred to as ABCD, is a development approach focusing on the identification and use of a community and its members' assets and skills as a means to improve their capacities and drive their own development as opposed to solely relying on external grants and assistance.
Receivers to Givers is a model as well as a program developed by E-CARE where the provision of livelihood assistance to partner-communities enables them to support not only their own projects but also the projects of other communities. It facilitates the development of communities from being receivers to eventually becoming givers. R2G operates to complement the ABCD approach as well as address its inadequacies in the Philippine context.
The E-CARE Foundation is the restructured and newly revisioned development arm of the Episcopal Church in the Philippines.
